On 5 May 2011 the Springbok coach, Peter de Villiers, will be the guest speaker at a breakfast function of the SWD Rugby Union, with the theme " Rugby World Cup 2011".
Tickets are only R250 per person and if a full table of 10 people is booked, tickets are R210 per person, which includes a full English breakfast.
The event will start at 8h00 at Pine Lodge in George and will be attended by various Eagles players and coaching staff.

ARENDE BO TEEN BLOU BULLE
Die Arende het Saterdag n uitstekende oorwinning behaal teen die Blou Bulle in Pretoria, deur die wedstryd met 25 punte teenoor 23 te wen. Die Arende, wat halftyd 10 - 20 agtergeloop het, het gewen danksy die wendrie wat in die laaste sekondes gedruk is deur Brood van der Westhuizen.
Die Arende se verdediging was in die tweede helfte rotsvas en die Bulle kon slegs 3 punte in die helfte aanteken.
Vir die Arende het Howard Noble 2 driee gedruk en Brood van der Westhuizen 1. Raynor Bekker het 2 strafdoele behaal en 2 doelskoppe.
Hierdie oorwinning beteken dat die jong Arende span met groot vertroue kan uitsien na die Curriebeker reeks.

BOKSMART
There has been some speculation regarding ‘enforcing’ the BokSmart licensing in games in SA. More specifically on the issue that it should not be a referee’s problem to check Boksmart certification. I have been in contact with Dr Wayne Viljoen and we agree on the matter. For clarity purposes, I will address the modus operandi as follows: Please refer to the Boksmart regulations. Some amendments have been proposed for clarity purposes and are currently in process for review to ratification after which it will be sent out.
· Clause 3 specifies that any person coaching a team in SA, should be BokSmart licensed.
· Clause 4 specifies that any person refereeing match should be BokSmart licensed.
· Clauses 6 & 7 specifies that a match should be abandoned if any coach or Referee or AR cannot provide proof of the BokSmart certification.
Coaches are to present proof of their BokSmart certification to the referee at least 15 minutes before kick-off – earlier is fine, or else the game is not started and even abandoned.
Gentlemen and ladies, I am aware that some will say that we are loading too much on the referee and I do not disagree with that altogether. However, we cannot play rugby in SA unless the regulations of BokSmart are met – in fact, it is law!
AS A REFEREE IS NOT SUPPOSED TO START A MATCH WITHOUT THE MINIMUM MEDICAL EQUIPMENT AND PERSONNEL, LIKE WISE HENCEFORTH, PLEASE INSTRUCT ALL YOUR REFEREES NOT TO START A MATCH UNLESS PROOF OF BOKSMART CERTIFICATION IS PROVIDED BY COACHES. ALSO, PLEASE ENSURE YOU ONLY APPOINT REFEREES THAT ARE BOKSMART CERTIFIED WITH A VALID LICENSE!

ARENDE vs LIONS
Die Arende het die afgelope Vrydagaand op Outeniqua Park met 14 punte teenoor 37 verloor teen die Lions. Die telling vlei die Lions egter, wat ten minste 3 sagte driee gedruk het. Die Arende se jong span het baie goeie rekenskap van hulself gegee teen n Lions span wat 11 spelers bevat het wat al op Super Rugby vlak gespeel het.
Die toewyding van die Arende teen die sterk Lions span was n riem onder die hart en hierdie span van afrigter Johan Lerm gaan nog diep spore trap in Suid Afrikaanse rugbykringe.
